Something happens to a man when he has a baby girl. It’s called The First Daughter Effect: when 66% of men become more aware of the issues that women face.
White Ribbon used this insight to create a film that asked all men, whether they have daughters or not, to reflect on their past and examine their own problematic behaviours.
The film caught the attention of the Canadian government who pledged $600,000 in financial support for White Ribbon. With this funding, White Ribbon can continue its mission to inspire men and boys to be part of the solution to gender-based violence and inequality.
